Ruffels will be my back up midfielder and Other than that problem my midfield is very good, Lundstram is a superb young talent, Sercombe is a work horse and Maguire has Championship quality and should have lots of fun in this position in this league. The formation requires a very good and reliable defensive midfielder, but as you can see I have none!! this automatically becomes my top priority as these can be hard to find.

Playing the formation I do means i don’t have much use for wingers, i will offload any i do have and free up wage and transfer funds. Left back Skarz is a very reliable player with bags of experience, I may bring in a young LB on loan as cover potentially but it’s not top priority. Chey Dunkley has potential, a youngster with some fairly good stats but no real experience, he will be bled into the side over time. On the topic of Centre back I think I need one or two, Jake Wright has been club captain for a few years and is generally reliable, Mullins unfortunately for him i will be looking to offload due to age and quite honestly I need better. My defense needs a bit of work, Right back will be my main problem, Sam Long is far to young for first team level and Mullins is more of a center back so work needed. My two keepers are pretty good, Buchel is a Liechtenstein international and Slocombe has played 200+ games in higher leagues. I personally believe that if you want to get promoted you need cover in every position in the formation you will be mainly playing. So the first thing that occurred to me was the squad depth, this squad is threadbare. So this brings me to my team, where does it need improving? Well, take a look. I think I am going to need to get my affairs in order pretty quick if i am going to get a good start to the season with these opening An opening home game against ex premier league and FA cup winners Portsmouth, a trip to near enough Scotland to Brunton Park to play Carlisle and a nice tasty fixture at home to Bristol Rovers.

I should also add that the FA fixture generator wasn’t too kind to me when announcing my first three fixtures. However I will not rush and will scout the earth to find the best bargains for my club. This being said 450k is nothing compared to the olden days of CM2 where you can pick up quality players for under 50k.

I can only assume that this is due to the data update but i am not complaining.
Speaking of quality of player i can bring in i was also really shocked to see i had 450k to help build my team. Depending on the calibre of player i can bring in, i will be pushing for play-offs at least. This doesn’t mean that i personally am not aiming for higher things. Now i am not one to shy away from a challenge but as this will be my first time with this database and blogging at the same time this gives me some leeway. Right, to the actual game, choosing Oxford United I thought my board expectations were going to be relatively high but to my pleasant surprise the board were expecting a ‘respectable mid table finish’. Not to mention i have spent far to many hours on the previous database that doing this blog would become very tedious for me and for the readers. This is purely because i loved the old championship manager system but equally like playing with current real life players. So I loaded up the game and started my adventure, like i said in the previous post i had loaded a database with a pretty up to date database.
